Ο ήχος του κινηματογράφου 10. – Suicide is Painless (1970)

Μια ξεχωριστή δημιουργία από το 1970, τα χρόνια της έντονης αμφισβήτησης και τις στιγμές που ταρακούνησαν ηγεσίες και κράτη, είναι το αντιπολεμικό MASH. Για όλα τα πιο πάνω δεν ευθυνόταν αποκλειστικά η ταινία του Robert Altman, αφού ο κόσμος άλλαζε ήδη γύρω μας και η απαίτηση για ειρηνική διευθέτηση των διαφορών μεταξύ χωρών ήταν σύνθημα στα στόματα εκατομμυρίων ανθρώπων. Το MASH ήρθε όμως με τον δικό του τρόπο, για να περάσει με χιούμορ τα μηνύματά του και για να καυτηριάσει με σάτιρα τα κακώς κείμενα. Το δίδυμο Donald Sutherland και Elliott Gould άφησε εποχή με το σαρωτικό του μαύρο χιούμορ, κρυμμένο έξυπνα στον κυνισμό και τον αυτοσαρκασμό.

Το τραγούδι, που ξεχώρισε μέσα από την ταινία αυτή, ήταν το “Suicide Is Painless” που συνέθεσαν οι Johnny Mandel (μουσική) και Mike Altman (στίχους). Ήταν συγχρόνως και το θέμα της ταινίας. Γνώρισε απίστευτα μεγάλο αριθμό διασκευών και εξακολουθεί να διασκευάζεται και να εμπνέει ακόμη και στις μέρες μας νέους καλλιτέχνες, κάτι που δείχνει πόσο σημαντικό είναι να έρχονται επιρροές από τέτοια φιλμ και τραγούδια. Grady Tate, Al De Lory, Henry Mancini, Roy Ayers, Paul Desmond, Jimmy Smith, Art Of Noise, Jay-Jay Johanson, The Drones, Manic Street Preachers, είναι μόλις μερικοί από όσους το διασκεύασαν. Στην αυθεντική του μορφή από το ομώνυμο soundtrack, έφθασε στην κορυφή των περισσοτέρων Ευρωπαϊκών χωρών.

Ο ήχος του κινηματογράφου 8. – «Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious» (1965)

1964. Μια από τις καλύτερες ταινίες, που παρήγαγαν τα στούντιο της Disney και ένα από τα κορυφαία και πιο επιτυχημένα μιούζικαλ στην ιστορία του κινηματογράφου, κάνει ντεμπούτο στις αίθουσες. Είναι το Mary Poppins, μια πανδαισία χρωμάτων και ήχων, γεμάτη ευρηματικές σκηνές. Ένα φιλμ που έμεινε αποτυπωμένο στις μνήμες όλων για την αρτιότητα της παραγωγής, αλλά και γιατί ήταν κάτι από εκείνα τα κομμάτια μαγείας και ανθρώπινης έμπνευσης, που κατά καιρούς μας χαρίζει η έβδομη τέχνη. Βλέποντάς το κανείς ακόμη και σήμερα, αν αφεθεί στην απλότητά του, μπορεί να ανέβει ξανά στο άτι της φαντασίας και να συνεχίσει το ταξίδι από εκεί που το άφησε.

Αναμφίβολα ένα τραγούδι ξεχώρισε από το υπέροχο εκείνο soundtrack. Το «Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious» των χαρισματικών μουσικοσυνθετών Sherman Brothers, τραγουδισμένο από την φωνή της Julie Andrews και του Dick Van Dyke. Η ερμηνεία των λέξεων από τις οποίες αποτελείται ο τίτλος του, είναι η ακόλουθη:
super- «above», cali- «beauty», fragilistic- «delicate», expiali- «to atone», and -docious «educable».
